Working for the Unemployed

How often do we hear stories or know of people who have been retrenched or can’t find work? We are told continuously and see that the rates of unemployment are on the increase dramatically. Such realities are of great concern to individuals, businesses and our country as a whole.

The challenge to therefore make a difference is everyone’s responsibility.

Tania and Ronald Bownes left their employment in the corporate world in 2008 to take up this challenge. They started an organization called DreamWorker. They are a community based, non-profit organization that is set up to help the unemployed find work and employers find quality staff.

DreamWorker place semi –skilled workers into positions ranging from retails staff, drivers, admin staff, factory workers, painters, gardeners and domestic workers.

The advantages of using Dreamworker’s recruitment service is evident, for a start the candidate’s who secure employment see this opportunity as a dream come true. No fee is charged for this service, to the employer or the employee.

The candidates screening process is very carefully done with comprehensive reference checks. It’s here DreamWorker select the best possible skilledcandidate, with the appropriate personality for the position. The interviewing process can be carried out at their head office in Athlone or at the businesses location.

By using  DreamWorker you are actively contributing to a company’s Corporate Social Initiative or as an individual through supporting the organization you are helping  reduce the levels of unemployment in a sustainable and progressive capacity.

DreamWorkers core mission is all about inspiring, uplifting and giving hope to the unemployed, thereby maximizing their chances of securing work. Aside from making use of their free recruitment service, other areas of assistance are to help fund this social enterprise as they rely on private trust and grant assistance.

Another chance to help is by sponsor a day of employment for only R100 through their Link of Love Campaign, vouchers are sold for R100 each and each voucher enables an unemployed person to work for a day in their community- caring for the sick, tending community gardens and other such needed activities.
